Last year I implemented my GEP activities in the subject of Physics and Chemistry in 2nd ESO, but this year my GEP project was planned to be implemented in 3rd ESO at Biology and Geology subject. 

This project is about learning the human body by learning how it works, by what we can do to prevent to get some diseases and how can we act to have a healthier life!

 

To do this I planned different activities, materials and resources such as:

• A warm-up about human body vocabulary using the ICT tool Quizlet to know what the students already know about the human body in English. In the Quizlet, by using flashcards and playing some games matching words, can know what they really know about it.

• Creating a Brainstorming using the ICT tool Word Art by using the vocabulary they have learned in the warm-up activity.

• Playing a Gymkhana at class making relations with the organs and structural parts of the human body.

• Creating Cooperative and collaborative groups to investigate each of them one of the seven body systems, their functions, the basic structure, and some of the diseases related to each system, and how can we do to prevent them.

• Creating a personal "Human Body diary" where each student have to describe each human body system and their organs in more detail (Catalan and English). So, they will have to improve the information for each body system, adding the information that for them is more important. And they have to draw all the human body systems naming all their parts. 

 

Unfortunately due to coronavirus, I couldn't implement the project with my students, so I hope to have the opportunity to implement it next year.
